The Marica Frequency Unveils Their New Song “Stay In The Light”

I have to confess that as the first-time listener of The Marica Frequency, the experience was unexpected and fresh in a mind of blowing fashion. It’s the fresh experience that you have to go through as a kid taking his first steps, totally indifferent to his previous life.

Not only do the electronic elements of the synth-heavy, harmonic-focused vocals multiply their presence in each album, but their special mix of instrumental and electronic elements adds an intimate, emotional depth. I find myself breathing deeper, slower, and becoming more conscious not just of my own body, but of my own emotional state.

“Stay In The Light” struck me this way from the first note, and it only continues to unravel me as the lyrics reveal themselves. As it jumps into the chorus, in contrast to the music “oh take us home now, take us home,” the complexity of the band’s craft only deepens, recognizing both in word and sound the true beauty that comes from emotional turbulence.

“Stay In The Light” is the 2nd song off their newly released 5th studio album “Clone”

Interview: Fuun Shares Insights About Their Musical Journey

Following the release of their brand new album, our team had the opportunity to share a short conversation with the band to find out more about their journey music. Here are a few excerpts from the interview:

We are happy to have you today. Tell us about your 2021 so far! What have you guys been up to?

Thanks for having us! It’s great to hear from you.

We released our first Album on the last day of 2020 so we started the new year with a big celebration and big hopes. While promoting the album all around the world (from our home office) we had to build a duck and chicken aviary for our animal friends. It was hard work because winter was coming, and it had only a few degrees here in Germany. But we had to do it because we had a horrible hawk attack last year.

Can you share more with our readers about your latest release “Past”? What inspired the album?

Past is about anything that grinded our gears in the past seven years. It was inspired by monsters under our beds, the feeling of losing time and living life as a disoriented young humanoid.

How did the band first get started?

Pascal and Dreher have known each other since their school days and already made music together back then. Due to a lack of rehearsal space, they registered at the music school. There they met Genoveva, who was learning bass at the time. Later Julian discovered a recording of FUUN on the internet and contacted us asking if we wanted to record a song with him as part of his bachelor studies in the recording studio of the School of Audio Engineering in Munich. Then we just kept Julian. He’s our Julian now. Lol.

How did you all decide on the band name Fuun?

For the name FUUN, we were inspired by the short name of the band Eels. Also, we didn’t want to commit to any language at that time, so we were looking for a word that didn’t have a meaning in any language. Fun Fact: We later found out that our band name is “bad luck” in Japanese. Also, it turned out that the name is disastrously bad to find on the internet because search engines always correct it to “Fun”. But we stick to it for FUUN. 😊

How would you describe your sound to someone who just listened to your music for the first time?

We’d say it’s definitely some sort of happy post-grunge psychedelic stoner rock. Think of Alice in Chains, The Pixies, Radiohead and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard all in one.

How has these past few months of quarantine affected you all creatively?

We finished the album and already created a few songs for the next release. As most of us are living together, we were able to focus on our common creativity to establish authentic art in these shitty times.

What advice do you have for anyone interested in starting their own band?

Do not let individuals stop you. Draw consequences rather sooner than later.

Jamming together should be FUUUUN!

Biggest lesson learned in your career so far?

Deadlines are gold.

How do you get pumped up before a big event?

Normally the pure sensation of being together with our fans pumps us to the moon and back. Also, we eat together. For a good show, we need all the energy we can get.

Are you currently working on any special projects?

We are working on some brand-new songs that are inspired by the pandemic and that spends us hope looking forward. Some of these songs are very upbeat and happy. We want to form a counterpoint to all the bad news these days.

Thank you for speaking with us! For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?

Performing a show in Africa and discovering the great art scene there is a big dream of us and someday it will come true. See you after the pandemic!

Get Hooked To the Hypnotic Fusions Bought Forward By the Brilliant Artist “Magnif PonDiRiddim”

Magnif PonDiRiddim

What quickly separates the great artist from the average is the amount of progress that the respective artist plans to add to the genre. Introducing one such artist, Magnif PonDiRiddim, who, with an unique mix of Reggae, R&B, Pop, Soca and Afrobeats, creates soundscapes that genuinely articulate what is in his mind and soul enrolling himself in the mainstream league. The Barbados-based musician Magnif PonDiRiddim  is a revolutionary artist on a mission and wants to introduce fusion music as a genre to the world.

Afro-fusion, though it can seem like a simple kind of music is a complex kind of music that not everyone can make. It requires a certain level of experience, professionalism and skill, which isn’t every artist’s cup of tea. Even so, as far as Magnif PonDiRiddim is concerned, his compositions not only have all the reasons listed above, but also carry versatility to listeners, while incorporating contemporary Afrobeats elements into his songs. His single “Kilele” is a simple showcase of his talents and the love and enthusiasm he has for his craft.

The lyrics uniquely address the true sense of desire and love that is yet to be expressed, and the songwriter stylistically represented his genius by assembling catchy verses to reflect the true intent. The listener is bound to get excited about the consistent rhythm and the pop-inspired vocal intensity that brings some charisma to the single. The calming melodic blend of the artist Magnif PonDiRiddim’s cut edge lyricism ideally suits the ambience of the track.

Emerging entirely with a vivid melodic fusion and an interesting visual set-up, the song “Romance” unravels the musician’s vibrancy and enticing thread of songwriting. The track is delightfully enjoyable and the singer has expressed his unwavering enthusiasm in the music video. It’s a stellar performance that was impressively produced by the singer and created an eclectic appeal. There’s a natural rasp in the voice that comes with a strong touch of reggae.

There are oodles of fusion elements that come with his quintessential swagger and sway. The track has the most sultry rhythm and the whip-smart hook-line makes it much more flabbergasting and breathtaking. It’s a spectacular execution of passionate love in its entirety.

Authenticity is what the artist stands for, and that is one of the key reasons why he is so burgeoning with his audience. He is currently affiliated with the label Feel The Vibes Music Group, which paved the way for the release of his singles.
