The new track of this artist “Take My Time” is causing a buzz among the listeners with its distinctive musical offering. The track is lifted off his upcoming album which drops on February 14th. Dealing with sensitive elements like coming up from nothing, each track in the album comes with a relatable subject matter that engages the listeners.

We asked him a variety of questions on his personal and professional front. Here are a couple of excerpts from the interview.

Thank you for speaking with us at African Hype. What’s the first thing you hope new listeners feel when listening to your music?

A different vibe; something they can feel and relate to.

Congratulations on the release of “Take My Time”! What is the motivation behind such a lyrically rich and melodically unique single?

My album motivated me with the single because I took my time to push my music.

What has your musical journey been like? Run us through your story.

Loses, it started off as fun but life and losses hit. There was a point of time I could’ve stopped or push forward. I choose to push forward with my music because I know the people I lost would want me to continue the journey. You will be able to feel that through my album.

You made some significant progress in 2020. How did the Global pandemic affect your career?

It had a positive influence on my music. It gave me more time to write this album and make goals for my music.

What inspired you to pursue music?

My father because he played different genres of music. Also my family because music played a big part in our gathering. That’s why on my album you can get a mixture of different styles of music because I am different.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be?

I wouldn’t want to collaborate with any artist because I feel like I bring everything to the table as far as music wise. Shout out to all the local I mess with I’m always willing to work with people I have already worked with and people I have already worked with.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I don’t really listen to mainstream rappers or follow trends.

For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?

Album dropping feb 20,2021 pre-order will be available feb 14, 2021. Shoutout Dskrilla, Frank Gotti TonyGucch, Domino and the whole eastside of Gary. That’s on the Biggest G we up next!!!

Enjoy The Hard Hitting Bars With Upcoming Rapper Stickbaby Juan’s Latest Track “OG BRAD”

Jakevion Brown, known professionally as “Stickbaby Juan” is an American hip-hop artist and songwriter from Ashburn/Georgia. Well, before Stickbaby Juan begins offering his incredible lyrics to the new single “OG BRAD” set to be released on February 1st, there’s an intensity that everyone within the vivid scope of the single is incapable of escaping.

It was born from a cutting-edge musical arrangement that established a base on which Stickbaby Juan and his collaborative artist Love Ghost would paint with crisp and creative melodies. Everything about this track is larger than life, from its hook, the rap, the elegiac piano, or the snare drums, and with its release I see both of the stars elevating their status within the underground to a height never seen before.

Of course, this song is lyric-centric, but also has a very interesting style and is one of the tracks that you definitely want to have on repeat. If by any odd chance you haven’t caught the wind of what Stickbaby Juan is doing in and out of the studio right now, getting in on this track will certainly help you understand why the critics have gravitated to his sound as much as we have. He has the “it” factor, and it’s still evident in  “OG BRAD”

Lilintern joins us again to discuss his music, his inspirations, and what we can expect from him in the future! Make sure to check out our interview below:

Was there anyone or anything in particular that pushed you to pursue music?

My mom and dad

What has your musical journey been like? Run us through your story.

Multicultural family. Different musical tastes between all of us, between piano lessons and the sick music my parents, brothers and sisters listened to I think I was influenced by all of it.

What is the motivation behind such a lyrically rich and melodically unique single “Globe”?

It’s just how I felt when Taylor sent me the track. Me and T-Masc made that track in like 30 min or so. It was lit.

What is your real name?

How did you come up with the stage name?

Me and some friends were talking about different internships we had had over the years and I was like no cap if lil intern is available that’s mine haha. It was taken so I hacked into ig and took it

What does music mean to you?

It means everything.

If you are asked to collaborate with a renowned musician, whose name will you write down?

That is a tough one probably forever evolving. Cuz a few years ago I might have said some people I regret. Fuck Tekashi tho

Are you working independently or with any production house or recording label?

Are you working on any project right now and what can we expect from you in the future?

I am just focusing on a couple more singles and videos at the moment.
