Delvin“Hi African Hype, thanks for having me!”
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
“Of course, I’ve always been an advocate of following dreams, and I’ve been writing music since 8 years old. Music is my passion and my #1 outlet of expression. Years and years later, I never stopped dreaming, I never stopped learning about myself, and I never stopped learning about the industry. Never quit your dreams.”
Where do you originally hail from and where are you based now?
“I was born in the Bronx (New York City) and raised in Virginia. I’m based in the United States. Southern girl with city girl charm? Or is it the other way around?”
Congratulations on your latest track “I Want You”, how do you feel about the newfound success?
“I Want You is such a different track than I’m used to writing. I was in my feelings and the production of the beat really influenced where the track went. It was the right sound, the right emotion, the right feelings, at the right time. Music is very sensitive I must say. I am excited to see how far it will go and the audience it attracts! I can imagine playing at every festival with a live guitar.”
What was the inspiration behind the single?
“Wanting to move away and get out of a bad situation. At the time I wrote this song, I believe I was super depressed, surrounded by negativity, and I waited for anyone to rescue me. I let my guard down and was let down by those around me. I was waiting for a prince that never showed up to my door to whisk me away. I had hope though and that’s what got me through.”
Are there any specific elements you like to throw into your songs?
“Standout lines, catchy lyrics, natural catchy melodies, emotion, a storyline…”
What has remained as your constant source of inspiration throughout the years?
“Being the person that I looked up to as a kid. Being the best version of myself. Getting my family out of their situations. Being the princess my dad would’ve wanted me to be.”
Do you have any dream collaborations? Who are they?
“I want to collaborate with everyone, really!”
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
“I went through a lot to get to where I am today. And I love strawberry cheesecake!”
For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?
“Thank you so much for having me, I really appreciate it! I hope to visit Africa soon, perform at festivals, have meet and greets, and volunteer however I can. We all can follow our dreams and work together. I admire the beauty of your continent, and I want to bring more love, peace, and good energy. Have a great day! See you soon!”

Internationally Acclaimed Dancehall Superstar Valiant Teams up With Jamaican Producer Weekday for an Introspective and Inspirational Masterpiece Dubbed “Grimey”

It’s songs like these that you find yourself playing over and over again, each successive listening experience imprinting itself on your heart and soul and leaving a memorable appeal that you do not wish to erase, ever. “Grimey” is what happens when two incredibly gifted artists get together, each recognizing what the other is worth—in this case, dancehall maestro Valiant and versatile Jamaican producer Weekday. I like how introspective and elegantly simple the instrumentation is, allowing for the profound message at its core to take center stage. This tune is as inspirational as it is alluring with a message of resilience, perseverance, and hope, as well as the benefit accrued from aligning yourself with people who share your vision, those who fuel your joy, only performing those pursuits that feed your bliss and only being around those places that make you feel most alive.
The underlying message here is that of self-belief—that you have to believe in yourself no matter what because you are your most prized asset. Also, while it feels inestimably good to win, you don’t have to do it at the expense of your soul.
Now, imagine such fulfilling lyrics, delivered with the most soulfully rich, unmistakably distinct voice of the one and only Valiant over these introspective, delicate yet expressive beats that mirror the production virtuosity of the brilliant Weekday? Sounds awesome, right? That’s what I thought.
And this is not anything new to Weekday. Time and time again, he has proved to be a peerless production scientist who crafts sonic masterpieces that transcend borders, blending the rich history of his island roots with a global appeal— “Grimey” is a perfect case example of his knack for creating soundscapes that are as dynamic as they are authentic!
This beat right here has been meticulously designed to transport anyone lucky enough to be listening. The layers in this production speak to Weekday’s deep understanding of music’s emotional power, from the delicate key-laden melodies that feel like a gentle island breeze to the booming basslines that hit like waves, down to that soulful essence of something so Afrobeats-esque that give the song a deeply felt, sincere, and profound vibe that you can only experience as opposed to just ‘hearing.’
The music video is another deeply intimate and expressive affair that perfectly suits the mood and tone of the music and lyrics. I couldn’t think of a perfect complement to this jam than this dexterously executed visual display that is as heartfelt as the song itself.
Can’t lie, “Grimey” is the best song I’ve listened to over the past week and I feel that it deserves all the hype and critical acclaim it can get. This is a true, rare sonic beauty that cannot be denied by its listener. It’s a masterpiece that reaffirms both Valiant’s lyrical prowess and Weekday’s exceptional production skills. I am willing to bet on my life!

Musician Tyran Lee Ingram Is Hopeful and Inspirational With the Uplifting Track “It Ain’t Nothing Without God (Live)”

DelvinAn artistry built on a steadfast spirituality basis, there is something so atypical and yet still so accessible about Tyran Lee Ingram’s music. His music is the kind you identify with on a more uplifting, empowering, and inspirational basis as he quotes positive, affirmative words that capture the Holy scripture, but that does not mean that his music has been confined to the four walls of the church. It is music for both believers and non-believers and the common denominator is that it is the kind of hopeful and enchanting music that touches both the heart and soul, planting itself in a listener’s mind with every listen. Now that you are here, you couldn’t have possibly picked up a better time to get acquainted with this artistic genius.
“It Ain’t Nothing Without God (Live)” is an anthem of hope and belief, captured succinctly but gratifyingly with a runtime of just 1 minute and 20 seconds…that’s all Tyran needs to put across his message of hope, belief, and exaltation of God who holds all the power and maketh things happen in His own time.
The song is particularly anthemic, packed with catchy lyrics and hooks that wrap around a listener like a warm embrace, their fulfilling quality something to hold on to way outside the track’s length.
The song’s structure embodies something pop and rock, with driving, guitar-laden melodies that provide a delightful backdrop for the warm, conversationally expressive, and unmistakable vocals of Tyran Lee Ingram.
With “It Ain’t Nothing Without God (Live),” Tyran is underscoring a very important message— that no matter the circumstances, God is still the same and will forever have his presence over His creations and everything that happens, good, bad, and evil is according to His own liking.
A sincere, memorable, and uplifting tune that is short and sweet, “It Ain’t Nothing Without God (Live)” is such an easy recommendation to anyone who wants to listen to something genuine, infectious, and replayable!
