4EvaKnockin Comes Out With new Single ‘Raw’

4EvaKnockin is an artist on a mission, who recently released a new album ‘Eternal Blackout’ that is an apparent showcase of his talent. By establishing himself as a lyric force in the hip-hop scene, the artist is fast scaling the heights of rap, one release after another.

“Raw” is hands up our favorite song on the project, although the entire album is a regal body of work and proof that he puts his heart and soul into the craft. ‘Raw’ has been delivered over melodic trap beats with quite a quirky bassline. Behind the groovy instrumentation, however, is his hard-hitting and precise lyrics.

Lyrically, 4EvaKnockin proceeds to assert his position in the rap industry, addressing in the process, his detractors.

African Hype reached out to 4EvaKnockin with a few questions. In response, he provided insight into his music style, influences, and the new single. See the interview below.

Congratulations on your new album ‘Eternal Blackout’. What are the inspirations behind it?

4EvaKnockin is an artist on a mission, who recently released a new album 'Eternal Blackout' that is an apparent showcase of his talent. By establishing hims

The things I went through and what’s going on in my life. The way I hear other artists tell stories in their music.

What inspired you to pursue music? And are there any artists who influenced your interest in music?

I grew up listening to all types of music. My mom, stepdad, uncle played everyone from Earth Wind and Fire to Eazy E to DMX to Scarface and plenty more other musicians. Then once I heard my cousins rapping I was like man I can do that too.

Artists like Do or Die, Mr.Mike, No Limit, Cash Money, Bone Thugz n Harmony, Ludacris, Jeezy, Dirty Boyz, Dayton Family, Rap A Lot, Camp Dark,3 6 Mafia, Dark House 415. They influenced my interests in music 4sho.

If you were not a musician what would you have been?

I would’ve been hustling hard in the streets and still work a 9-5

What would be your dream collaboration?

My dream collaboration would be me, 3 6 Mafia, and Ludacris on the same song. Sheesh!!

How long does it usually take you to write your songs?

It usually takes me around 30 mins to an hour to write a whole song. (I gotta make sure everything is right before I step in the booth) lol

How do you manage your emotions when there are untrue stories about you online or in magazines?

I don’t worry about the negativity at all now if I do run across some crazy story It just makes me go even harder in my music and I can’t let emotions take over because then my music wouldn’t be right to me.

What’s been your greatest musical accomplishment so far?

My greatest music accomplishment so far is working with my cousins I grew up listening to as a kid and working with my favorite artist in the city I live in now.

Vernon Little Unveils His New Single ‘Proverbs’

Needless to say, Vernon Little has become an important figure that continues to bring the light of Christ into a dark world through his music. He is a gifted Gospel singer/rapper and Pastor based in New York with a wide spectrum of musical influences, from Mary Mary to Nas and LL Cool J. With the rapper having released his second EP ‘Words To Live By’ this year, Mr. Little continues to entrench his name into the gospel hip-hop scene.

“Proverbs” is hands up my favorite song on the project, although the entire EP is a regal body of work and proof that he puts his heart and soul into the craft. The song has a strong message, having selected the book of Proverbs to remind Christians of the importance of upholding the commands given to us by the Lord.

The eccentric and genius lyric style captivates the mind and above all relays the value of knowing and preserving basic commands for a happier lifestyle, something even a child can do.
