In the realm of music, Zenon Kesik is a remarkable figure, deviating from the expected and ordinary with his unique style. Originating from Canada, a region known for its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, Zenon Kesik found inspiration in the pop and rock music of the early 60s and 70s during his youth. Harnessing a fervor for music and an unyielding dedication, this artist went on to create one of the most impressive discographies in pop rock. The allure of Canada, known for its rich cultural heritage and endless creative opportunities, compelled a teenage Zenon to pivot his direction, and in an era where technology was not as advanced as it is today, much of his timeless creations might have gone under the radar, but not again. We are here to deconstruct this lasting music from the artist, who is now in his 70s, retired, and residing in Los Angeles, California.

His “LUCKY MAN” album features eight tracks, all accompanied by eye-catching concept videos to heighten the message and elevate it to newer levels. Drawing inspiration from everyday experiences, the album explores themes of life, love, loss, heartbreak, politics, and family. He then breathes life with his rich and distinct voice over the excellent production.

“Spring Break” features a feel-good production with danceable quality and warm vocals. You have to appreciate how he takes time to write, create, redesign, and execute a craft that has been well brainstormed to the core to produce a result that will never be mediocre. The video concept is remarkably creative, taking viewers through contrasting scenarios involving students enjoying their Spring break; on one side, things end up going terribly wrong for the male student, but on the other side, things go well for a female student camping out inside her van with her dog.

“Don’t Ever Push That Button” features a deeply meaningful theme at its core about wars and was inspired by the atrocities being committed against the people of Ukraine. Featuring the melodic edge of rock, this track is a reminder of the deafening reality about wars that so many people are adamant to accept: there is no winning in war, just losing.

“Perfection” is catchy and upbeat with a hypnotic beat that is guaranteed to arouse your appetite for dancing. His rich, gravelly voice breathes life into the track, creating an infectious chorus that makes it a memorable sing-along anthem. At its heart, this track features a deeply relatable theme about humans misguided notions about perfection, because in reality, nothing really is perfect, especially relationships, and the earlier you accept that as couples, the better.

“Thursdays” is another enchanting release that feels reminiscent. The song features an epic concept video featuring a girl at a café drinking cup after cup of coffee as she works on her alien abduction screenplay on her laptop and slowly gets affected by the addictive caffeine she has been imbibing.

“When I was 20” is nostalgic both in lyricism and melodicism, with the video concept featuring a man sailing his boat reminiscing about when he was young and in love. The phrasing is just right and allows the lyrics to perfectly evoke the mood of the song.

The title track is another emotional masterpiece with lyrics exploring the conundrum of a soldier who is stuck between choosing his family and serving his country; both of which he fondly loves as he is a family man who adores his beautiful family so much and still loves serving his country as a soldier.

This is timeless music, written in the past but delivered with a contemporary twist to appeal to a wide audience.

The concept video features impeccably acted scenes that complement the tracks perfectly, both in storyline and symbolism!
