American prodigious son LeRon Floyd professionally known as Yung Pre is a certified hitmaker sprouting from the east side of Lexington, KY. He is back on the rise, reinventing himself for a new era in the music industry.
Yung Pre has been in the industry for about 6 years and was formerly part of group GSCdaWOLFPACK. After the group split Yung Pre and member DexMann formed an independent label GSCMusicGroup in 2018. His most notable performances include opening for artist EST Gee, Sada Baby, Lil Durk, Bando Jonez, Lil Flip, and more. He also performed at SXSW in 2016 and the EKU Homecoming 2013-17.
With musical luminaries such as Tupac, Nate Dogg, and Bone Thugz acting as his influences, he makes futuristic sounds that borrow heavily from the quality sound of the 90s. In his new EP, he has introduced a new persona but still reflects the ambitious and fluid style he showed before. A versatile aura in his cadence that has contributed to his success will be on full display in his new work. Rooted in hip-hop/Rap, Soul, and R&B he builds his tracks from the ground up, crafting wavy beats, booming bass lines and atmospheric synths backed by his hard-hitting lyrical extravagance, and the sometimes smooth melodic and versatile improvisations that add that extra edge to the melody in his tracks.
Gunning for a top spot in hip-hop has led to Yung Pre producing hit after hit, such as in his previous releases “The Hits Stay Coming” EP and “Gerneaux”. He’s currently pulling material from his old catalog for remastering and has all hands on deck putting the finishing touches on his upcoming EP “G.O.A.T WIT OUT A VOTE” which is expected to be released anytime between April and June this year. The project reflects the stories of real-life circumstances while spitting facts on growth and responsibility. It has his musical expedition story of the wins and losses that have made him who he is today – a force to reckon with! The EP was recorded in Los Angeles and Atlanta and the beats were produced by Yung Pre with a producer feature from Denver native HimCarter.
The EP includes a collection of artists from his hometown Lexington including a feature from childhood friend Chef Tittyon’s track “Pay Attention”. It also includes labelmates Dex Mann and EasyMoney and a hopeful feature with L.A. superstar BLXST. This is promising to be a masterpiece and while we anticipate this groundbreaking release coming this spring you get to enjoy their latest video release “We Wit It” in collaboration with Dex Mann which premiered on February 10, 2022, and has already amassed over 17.7 K views.
