XANADU is a 5-member girl group that is made up of JYOUNGSHi, ADRiANE and MiNT from the US, XiA from West Indies and SEMMi from Singapore. This band was formed online and operates completely online at the moment. The group’s debut track, “Lovers At Midnight” was critically acclaimed with massive stream numbers across major platforms and officially introduced this eclectic prose to the music world. Riding on that wave of moments that the single has created for them, XANADU is back with another remarkably affecting single dubbed, “BAD.”
“BAD” is all about a familiar feeling most of us have experienced where our ill actions might have led to a break up in a relationship and while we refuse to admit it and play victim when we reminisce, we can’t help but feel that it was indeed us who were in the wrong- we were the “BAD” guy in the relationship.
The track was originally written by JYOUNGSHi and was intended to be a duo project featuring MiNT but XANADU decided to make it a group project. It features transcendentally arousing pop exploration with some powerful vocal presentations from the lead and back vocalists and sensational rap lyricism in between.
This track picks up at that irresistible chorus with those memorable hooks remaining ingrained in a listener’s brain even after the track is no more. I feel the group exudes appreciable chemistry amongst them seeing that they operate purely online- you really cannot notice from the onset and that is really commendable.
This is a “feel-good” type of anthem and though there is still a lot for the group to learn, I feel XANADU has started on the right foot and you never know, it might go on to scale the heights other girl groups such as Fifth Harmony and Destiny’s child achieved.
“BAD” is out now on all platforms; to give it a listen, follow the attached link and if you like what XANADU has to offer, let the track embellish your favorite playlist under your music library!
