I have to confess that as the first-time listener of The Marica Frequency, the experience was unexpected and fresh in a mind of blowing fashion. It’s the fresh experience that you have to go through as a kid taking his first steps, totally indifferent to his previous life.
Not only do the electronic elements of the synth-heavy, harmonic-focused vocals multiply their presence in each album, but their special mix of instrumental and electronic elements adds an intimate, emotional depth. I find myself breathing deeper, slower, and becoming more conscious not just of my own body, but of my own emotional state.
“Stay In The Light” struck me this way from the first note, and it only continues to unravel me as the lyrics reveal themselves. As it jumps into the chorus, in contrast to the music “oh take us home now, take us home,” the complexity of the band’s craft only deepens, recognizing both in word and sound the true beauty that comes from emotional turbulence.
“Stay In The Light” is the 2nd song off their newly released 5th studio album “Clone”
