Welcome to the interview and thank you for treating our ears to your latest EP, “Thanks For Nothing” which is set to release on 12/31/21. What prompted you to come up with such an exceptional EP?

Thank you for having me! It’s a honor!

Just goin through what I’ve been through over the last couple years and seeing how far I’ve came,as well as how far I have to go. Just wanting to motivate and encourage people at the same time give them something different..This project is a long time coming and just the start of more to come.

How long was this project in the making, and what were your intentions or hopes in terms of what people will take away from it?

This project was done this year, but it’s really like 5 years in the making. I know that’s crazy for only 8 songs but this project was just a special piece of work. It’s been a long time since I released a solo project and so many things had prevented me from a achieving that goal. Life’s challenges, having kids, and a pandemic. But we’re here now. And anybody that doubted, hated,or never wanted to see me win “Thanks For Nothing”
So that’s what I hope to do with this project encourage people to go for their deems and goals no matter what!

Can you talk me through some of the essentials that keep you locked in during a studio session?

When I’m in the studio its all work. Just already knowing how I wanna deliver my vocals by rehearsing everything I write before I hit the booth.
I just participate in cannibus activities and get in the zone and go foreal, nothin else special.

How would you describe your sound to someone who just listened to your music for the first time?

I would describe my sound as original I call it “Ratchet Consciousness”, Street slang and positivity. I don’t sound like anyone and I’m not tryna be like anyone, however if your looking for something with a little more substance and something different from the norm in hiphop today, recognize and love good music give your ears a try.
How do you recharge your creative batteries?

Music is my passion so I get inspired by hearing great music and just everyday life. I just need to be in a musical space and hear dope beats and it’s up!

Can you see your finished product before you start?

Yes I visualize and manifest so I just do the work and the results are more likely to be the same.

Where can people find you online and your music?

You can follow me on IG @Slym_Beno And “Thanks For Nothing” will be streaming on all digital platforms.

For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?

Thank you to African Hype for having me. S/O my kids Carson and Cyniah and My Wife Lashae

And also my brother Kula Guap who produced half the project! TV For The Blind P One Ent
