Congratulations on the release of “Take You Down” What was the motivation behind the single?
– For me, the biggest inspiration was the vocalist. When I heard her voice the first time, I just knew I had to get her on a song. We wanted to make something that touched on an important subject, without making the song very emotional.
The metaphor that “Take You Down” showcases really resonates with me, and I hope it does with our fans as well. It’s not always peoples faults they don’t see things as clearly as they probobly should, but instead of engaging in an argument where people might be hurt, you stop and simply accept they don’t move you they way they used to. No reason to “Take You Down” when I have the mental strenght to accept your flaws.

Which of your songs has the most memorable story for you? Whether it’s the writing process, recording sessions or release of the song.
– That’s a good question. For me personally, “Take You Down” is the most memorable song that I have released this far. The whole process with RØDY was just amazing, from start to finish. We initially had a more future bass heavy drop made for the song, but decided to switch it out with the drop that is released now. So just the whole creative process was really impressive and I loved it. I might let the world hear the first version as a future bass edit in the future, who knows!

What were the biggest initial hurdles to pursuing your musical dreams and how did you overcome them?
– The biggest hurdle was actually just taking the leap of faith and trusting my music enough to start the career. I was kind of pushed to overcome this, because I couldn’t do my daily job as an electrician due to chronic back pain. The physical limitaations I had in that job was too much for me. So this pushed me into pursuing the musical career I sort of always knew I could have. I have been producing music for Optic Studios for over a decade, so I knew there was a market for my style. It simply boiled down to me trusting enough.

What has been the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
– I guess I would have to say when crawled out from under the wings of Optic Studios and started my solo career. Second best moment goes to some of the great projects I did in OS. I’ve had the pleasure of working on some big songs and learned a whole lot from my time there.

Do you have a dream venue where you would like to perform sometime in the future?
– I have an upcoming tour in Europe after covid calms down, so i’ll obviously have to say that those venues is the dream as for now haha. But the big stages in Europe like Lollapalooza, Mystery Island and Airbeat One is something I could see myself doing far far into the future!

What according to you holds the most importance, fame, respect, or money?
– Uhm actually none of the above. They are great motivators for sure, but the reason I got into music was simply for my own need to get some creativity out. I have always felt that I needed to get something out, and music became one outlet for this. Now as my solo career is launching, I’m happy if I get to a point where I can sustain a good life off of it.

What’s something that most people do not know about you?
– I would think that most people don’t know that I’m a very capable drawing artist. Love to do the occational scribble.

Thank you for speaking with us! For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?
– I’d like to thank you for having me. And that I have new exciting release coming out april 30th, which details will be leaked on my facebook and instagram page in under two weeks!
