As far as collaborations are concerned, Rory D’Lasnow’s going down as an impressive one. The New-York based singer/songwriter has recently unveiled a new single “Happy” in collaboration with Phil Robinson and has received some hype since then. The folk-inspired track is really smooth, having the edge of Rory D’Lasnow’s powerful vocals and a perfect harmonica rhythm from Phil Robinson that inject a bit of bluesy, earthy authenticity into the song.

With such engaging storytelling delivered at the intersection of folk, country, and blues, the song (and by extension the collaboration) is completely engrossing.

His frank and authentic latest single reveals a meticulous approach to his signature musical sounds and relatable lyricism.  He talks about wanting to be happy again, “Happy is someplace that I could be, but I was never destined to go.” It’s the sincerity of his raw vocals, romantic melodies, and the resemblance of some of the legendary songwriters that give listeners a very pleasant experience from the very first line.
