Riddim & Vibez started his artistry by making beats for little-known rap artists and as time progressed his love for the soca, dancehall and reggae sound was too much to ignore, and seeing that he grew up in a Caribbean cultural environment, his affiliation to the Jamaican-influenced sounds was only natural. The now Europe-based producer who is residing in the Netherlands has been making a name for himself by producing some intriguingly mind-boggling beats with roots in the soca, reggae, and dancehall sound to successful results. His 2014 soca instrumental, “Liming Riddim” was deservedly acclaimed with artists jumping on the wave to create masterpieces from the sound!
Inspired by the aesthesis of a hypnotic groovy guitar melody and with the recommendation of a friend, Riddim & Vibez invited dancehall sensation Azaryah and this trickled down to a full album dubbed, “Mufasa Riddim” with other overseas guest artists invited to enable a 9-piece collection that is brimming with an infectious dancehall sound with flavors of soca and reggaeton that you will enjoy from the 1st track all the way to the last one!
If you are a riddim fan you have most probably interacted with some of the riddim albums like, “Bubble Gum”, “Washroom”, “Jouvert”, “Crown Love” riddim and so much more, this is the case for the album and you get to indulge yourself in more than 30 minutes of pure “Mufasa Riddim”- enjoy!
The opening track “Jammin” features the one and only Azaryah. He really delivers this spectacular beat that is addicting and thrillingly entertaining. Azaryah really fits in perfectly and delivers an anthem that makes you reminisce about some weekend vibes. Setting the lyrical tone with his powerful vocals, he entrancingly delivers some catchy lines about giving listeners riddim vibes to jam to all night. The production here allows his vocal delivery to slink through with sweetness and liveliness that is utterly infectious!
“Take You Away” saw Riddim & Vibez bring the legend and reggae icon Glen Washington on board and like you can expect, he did not disappoint. He easily feels at home with his familiar velvety and mature vocals and delivers a sensational performance from the perfectly laid bed of support from the dazzling dancehall instrumentation.
“Sweet Wine” features the acclaimed Dynamite and he displays why his name is Dynamite- giving a deserving performance worthy of that name in what is a memorable performance. You’d best be advised to listen to this track while taking in an obscenely large quantity of wine with the volume up to its maximum- really hits home!
In “Who is Daddy?” Riddim & Vibez featured Zamoni and by the end of your listening experience, you will wholeheartedly agree that Zamani is the daddy as he offers an engrossing performance exuding comfort and experience and vindicating Riddim & Vibez’s proficiency on these arresting beats.
“Thank God it’s Friday” sees Signal take center stage on the silver platter offered by Riddim & Vibez and after listening to this track every day feels like a Friday. It’s a great theme track for all the Fridays and one to get you pumped up and ready to face the weekend with reckless ambition!
In “Si Muero Hoy” Riddim & Vibez featured the inimitable duo Rika and DJ Ving, “Guh Deh” has Sandson breathing life into the narrative and “Let Me Feel” was honored by King5six. There is also a special “Mufasa Riddim” instrumental which you can also freestyle to and test your artistic depth!
I love how each track somehow transitions into each other with every artist giving it a seamless and coherent vibe to allow this album an innate authenticity!
I feel “Mufasa Riddim” will even have a bigger impact than Riddim & Vibez’s “Liming Riddim” – going on to dominate airwaves since it has everything to top dancehall charts and radio plays.
