It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Well aside from being a very unique artist from the 9th Ward, I was driven to become an even more spiritual young man due to witnessing murders, being in the perimeter of several shootouts, and losing many childhood friends and family to gun violence. It forced me to pray faithfully and find God expeditiously.

For me finding God saved me from all of the horrible things that were happening around me, and it gave me a peaceful spirit, humbling me and assuring me that everything would be alright as it has been. That gave me the strength and motivation to believe in my dreams and look at what I’ve accomplished thus far.

But I wouldn’t stop there, I was actually prepped for my current life from childhood. I was a great bicycle mechanic and handyman, so it’s very ironic that now I have skill saws, miter saws, table saws, and various tools to do home renovations such as flooring and carpentry.

I also took it to the studio and I actually record myself, mix my records, and shoot and edit some of my own videos if needed, with my own equipment I purchased.

Who has been the earliest influence who inspired you to take the plunge in the music scene?

My earliest influences in music would start with Micheal Jackson cause I would mimic his dance moves and sing for my family, but as far as Hip Hop, it would be Too Short, E40, UGK,Eightball &MJG and NWA.

What were the biggest initial hurdles to pursuing your musical dreams and how did you overcome them?

The biggest hurdles for me in the beginning were one, to actually get someone with experience and power to actually believe that I was talented enough to invest their time and money into me. Another hard hurdle was to get my city to hear my talent and accept me as one of their own, but once they actually heard me and many people all over New Orleans were already familiar with me as a person and my great personality, plus the women always loved me. It all started making sense and grew easy, very quickly.

What goals have you accomplished? What goals are you still working towards?

Being in the music business since 1995 I’ve managed to become locally and nationally underground legendary from releasing at least 10 to 12 albums, countless mixtapes and features that stamped me and my unique style which was a major goal, but to be able to quit my job back in 2004 and never go back to a normal job was it for me. Nowadays I’m still working on my craft focusing on my new sound mixed with my roots sound to finish what I started and go out with a Big Bang to build my brand and platform and open up the door for many other talented struggling artists like me and of course, be financially wealthy forever.

Do you have any dream collaborations? Who are they?

Well, as of today it’s been documented that I’ve been on several songs with Lil Wayne. I’d love to hear myself on a song with Jay Z, Nas and Beyoncé, but overall my biggest creative dream would be to work with the top producers of my era such as Timberland, Swizz Beats, the Neptunes, etc.

Can we expect any upcoming projects soon? Please shed some light upon it.

Right now my collaboration album is UPTOWNDOWNTOWN4 with Skip, It’s produced by BlaqNmilD and is getting mixed and mastered and is soon to be released. As a strong follow up, my solo album will be trailing that.

Thank you for speaking with us! For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?

Most of my time is spent being a family man I have 4 beautiful kids and a amazing supportive hardworking/entrepreneur wife beside me.
