Po is an artist on high demand who has taken the industry hostage with his revolutionary sound that has allowed him to push the limits of his own creativity and imagination in service of an authentic and fresh sound that has been lacking in the hip-hop and R&B arenas. He is as competent a rapper as he is a singer with a swift and effortless fluid style that allows him to flow like water over any type of beat. This has gone on to earn him up-and-coming notice among the southern rap scene which he proudly represents.

Taking his creativity, inventiveness, and imagination to the next level is how the project “Concrete Rose” was born—an 8-track collection that highlights Po’s infinite versatility and creativity both as a songwriter and performer. This is him taking his game to new heights.

The opening track, “muR deR,” is wavy, flanked by rhythmically mesmerizing flows and bouncy beats.. And there is something about the performance and vibes that are reminiscent of his own performance in his critically acclaimed banger “WATER”. The bouncing wave brought by that melodious rap delivery immediately gets you amped up and in good spirits. This is that kind of anthem for the weekends when the vibe is just right.

“Plug” is by far my favorite from this collection…I don’t even know where to begin; those beats are sick, hypnotizing, and just stunning. Right from the intro, they win you over before Po makes a decorated entrance and delivers one of the most lyrically fascinating performances I’ve listened to in a while.

In a way, I feel that “Plug” is the greatest representation of Po’s lyrical ability. This is straight-up bars and nothing else. He just leaves the dope game with his record clean; they said that he changed, and damn well, he did—he got richer.

“Troubled Child” had me catching the vibe due to the raw emotional vibe that flanks it. More than the dope beats, you can actually feel this deep lyricism and connect with it in your own personal ways.

This is the same case with “Lucky”- a collaborative project with guest performer Young Mark. Po veers towards personal and honest artistry with events that seem to be inspired by his own real-life experiences, and those beats support the mood of the track inexpressibly well. The producer really did justice here to ensure the melodies matched the mood being delivered…such rare efficiency that deserves critical praise.

Throughout this collection, you will be treated to epic performances, including that 56-second magnificent “3 Way Freestyle,” with Po flirting with his lyrical depth and witty charisma.

By all standards, “Concrete Rose” is exactly what you need to inspire your own creativity and vision.
