Dallas-Based Producer PlayNo Starts 2023 on a High With the Release of His New Album, “Wanted.”

For as long as he can remember, music has always been part of him, which is why, after being behind the scenes for close to a decade, record producer PlayNo decided it was about damn time that the world got to experience what he is made of, which I can tell you for free is something close to steel! In his production catalog, absolutely anything and everything goes, and that is what makes his music diverse and particularly hard to place. In addition to his versatility, he has always maintained that hip-hop brand to echo his lifetime musical influences!

You’ve got yourself a new sonic phenomenon; “Wanted” is the name of the game, and this is a 20-piece instrumental project that features some of the hardest going stuff I have treated my ears to in a long time!

What you get is an over-an-hour listening experience that is brimming with timeless standards—a huge testament to the exceptional artisanship that PlayNo possesses in his arsenal. The main characteristics of the various bangers here lie in their rhythms, the bass, and sometimes heavy and dark sounds.

PlayNo undeniably makes use of the synth atmospherics, low-end frequencies, and percussion, with most of the tracks based around hip-hop-influenced, 808-flavored, and signature hi-hats with his own indelible stamps all over that distinguish his tracks from any other beats you might have interacted with.

“Vent2late” for example, is a hip-hop staple that underscores PlayNo’s pristine production virtuosity. The melodies are consistently rhythmic and have a lingo, and I love how he integrates those vocal samples to add that sonic variety and mastery.

“Red Roses” features some hypnotic synths, low-end 808s, punchy drum work, and heavily booming bass lines to get your feet shuffling and head bopping all night long!

I love how diversely different the track “Chill tf Out” feels with the pop sensibilities adding to its crystal clear polish and warmth. With some original headphones on and with the stunning beats from “SLAB” coming off of them, there is no keeping calm—this is what heaven on earth might feel like!

There is a lot to digest from this entire collection, which deserves many ears due to its sublime nature and the professionalism involved in fashioning such an authentic body of work as this.
