Interview: Olga Divine Shares Insights About Her Musical Journey

Olga Divine joins us again to discuss her new single ‘Heavenly’, her inspirations and what we can expect from her in the future! Make sure to check out our interview below:

Congratulations on the release of “Heavenly”! How are you feeling about sharing this release with the world?

Thank you for having me. This release has been a dream come true. I am passionate about music and getting this track out there to encourage people in this period of uncertainty, is a blessing.

What has your musical journey been like? Run us through your story.

This journey began when I was just 7 years of age. I was introduced into the mass choir at that age because of my high vocal range. Since then, I never stopped singing and worshipping which led to my writing of over 70 inspirational songs.

“Heavenly” is beautiful! What inspired the creation of the visuals for the song?

Personally, atmospheres and scenarios depict a lot about a song. So, I choose locations with an ambiance to tell my story, so people can easily relate to the song.

Every element in an artist’s song is discovered differently. How do you know when you’ve discovered the right words and rhythm for your songs?

This is an important question. The lyrics to heavenly was divinely given to me. I woke up with this lyric and I knew God wanted the world to heal through this song. I believe a song is not just how good the singer’s voice is. A song lyric should give hope, encouragement, and strength to the listener. People listen to songs for various reasons, and when they find that song that reminds them of their affliction or situation, it stuck on them. Heavenly lyrics resonate with me personally because this song was given after I lost my dear mom.  Her death made me realize that I was suddenly an orphan. So, the lyrics gave me hope. I am encouraging anyone out there who has lost a dear one, especially the widows, the orphans, that God is the father of all, and he watches over them. They should hold onto their faith.

What advice would you give someone who’s just getting started in their Gospel Music Scene?

I will say prayers for direction, understand your purpose and the area of your calling and gifting. Because when a person operates in areas of their calling, they will effortlessly excel, and become a blessing to generations.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

Evangelist Olga Divine is a woman of God who believes in holiness and strives for what is right. She believes in equality, justice, and freedom for all and hates oppression. Above all, she is a woman of prayer and intercession.

What were the biggest initial hurdles to pursuing your musical dreams and how did you overcome them?

The biggest hurdle was not knowing where to start from. I was confused and was not ready to venture into a music career, it took the voice of God for me to know that the season is here, the time is now, and I cannot keep running away. So, I started the journey and here I am today.
