Offbeat Lookie Shares Insights On His Musical Journey

Offbeat Lookie has created an impressive soundscape. It has drawn the attention of the global hip-hop culture. He recently released his new single “Ghost” on major streaming platforms. The busy artist was kind enough to make an interview with us sharing his thoughts and insights on his musical journey.

What prompted you to choose your artist name – what does it represent?

My artist’s name came about in the studio… I meant to say Lucas on a verse and it came out “Lookie” all my Cru members always clowned me so I just made it my name

“Ghost” is captivating from the start to finish with a combination of unique beats and catchy lyrics. What was the inspiration behind the single?

I got the song “ghost” from the 50cent show “Power” ghost was my favorite character…. and I wanted a dancehall but still street/hood feel

Creativity is a huge part of an artist’s success. What is your creative process when creating new music?

When creating new music I like to go off experiences and vibes of my surroundings at the time

Which artists have influenced you through your musical journey?

I was influenced early on by Andre 3000, g unit, Lil Wayne, Jeezy, Meek Mill, Will I am, the lox, 2pac, drake etc. so many more I can go on and on lol

Which song (yours or someone else’s) has been the most memorable story for you? Whether it’s the writing process, recording sessions or release of the song.

The Song “Ghost” is so unique to me because it’s the first actual song I made after almost giving up on music 2.5 years ago so after creating it…. I feel like it’s essential to my life to continue to express myself thru music.
