Is Racism About Getting Even?

What happens when the oppressed become the oppressor, and the oppressor becomes oppressed?  The world is in chaos right now, and only music has the power to save and restore the broken hearts of mankind.

Artifacts from the past show us that the black man had long stretches of being at the top of the food chain. It tells us that there must have been some significant incident that left an impact on generations to come and contributed to the case of contemporary racism.

“The Tale of the Pale Ape,” is the product of collaboration between Navardo, a talented vocalist and songwriter from Jamaica and R.B.Graber, a lyricist and producer from the SF Bay Area.  Through edgy production, this song introduces a unique evolutionary theory. Navardo’s mesmerizing and soulful vocals penetrate the mind and spirit of the listeners as it exposes the true strength of the exquisite lyrical wordplay.

It was only after R.B. had studied deep ancient history and understood the roots of black culture that he came up with the idea of a song that would extend this experience to more people. He adds ““I am from a bi-racial family and gravitated toward ancient history in school even co-wrote a book about Aztec/Mayans. Becoming familiarized with mechanics (the science of cause and effect), my dark side would get into arguments with my pale side. That is when I realized that the dark men had treated pale men badly. A cataclysm around 1500 years ago changed everything. The table turned. Things flipped.  So, it has been retribution time ever since. But, it is a temporary situation, the table will continue to turn.”

True music identity has always been linked to outspokenness. In the verses of the song, R.B. and Navardo bridge the mutual dissension between black and white people in order to describe different facets of injustice in the form of cultural distinctions. They both stand as ambassadors that enable expressions to flow through an intense rhythmic and lyrical fusion. They redefine the never-ending wisdom of hip hop and give it a resurrected identity with themes and recognition of real issues.
