It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
“Of course, I’ve always been an advocate of following dreams, and I’ve been writing music since 8 years old. Music is my passion and my #1 outlet of expression. Years and years later, I never stopped dreaming, I never stopped learning about myself, and I never stopped learning about the industry. Never quit your dreams.”
Where do you originally hail from and where are you based now?
“I was born in the Bronx (New York City) and raised in Virginia. I’m based in the United States. Southern girl with city girl charm? Or is it the other way around?”
Congratulations on your latest track “I Want You”, how do you feel about the newfound success?
“I Want You is such a different track than I’m used to writing. I was in my feelings and the production of the beat really influenced where the track went. It was the right sound, the right emotion, the right feelings, at the right time. Music is very sensitive I must say. I am excited to see how far it will go and the audience it attracts! I can imagine playing at every festival with a live guitar.”
What was the inspiration behind the single?
“Wanting to move away and get out of a bad situation. At the time I wrote this song, I believe I was super depressed, surrounded by negativity, and I waited for anyone to rescue me. I let my guard down and was let down by those around me. I was waiting for a prince that never showed up to my door to whisk me away. I had hope though and that’s what got me through.”
Are there any specific elements you like to throw into your songs?
“Standout lines, catchy lyrics, natural catchy melodies, emotion, a storyline…”
What has remained as your constant source of inspiration throughout the years?
“Being the person that I looked up to as a kid. Being the best version of myself. Getting my family out of their situations. Being the princess my dad would’ve wanted me to be.”
Do you have any dream collaborations? Who are they?
“I want to collaborate with everyone, really!”
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
“I went through a lot to get to where I am today. And I love strawberry cheesecake!”
For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?
“Thank you so much for having me, I really appreciate it! I hope to visit Africa soon, perform at festivals, have meet and greets, and volunteer however I can. We all can follow our dreams and work together. I admire the beauty of your continent, and I want to bring more love, peace, and good energy. Have a great day! See you soon!”
