Sheer genius is demonstrated by the fascinating versatile artist and songwriter Mia Grace in her new single “Sleep.” The impeccable track is creatively entertaining and captivates the audience with an immersive and catchy vibe.

We’re lucky enough to have sneaked in for an interview with the talented artist. She was generous enough to lend some of her precious moments as we gleefully stumbled deep into her personal and professional life. Here are some excerpts from the interview:

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
I come from a musical background. My mom works in the industry on the business side and my dad was a singer/songwriter and producer in the group PM Dawn. I started writing and singing really young, when I was 13 I started to record my ideas and take things more seriously. Once I graduated high school I moved to California and have been studying online with Berklee College of Music.

Where do you originally hail from and where are you based now?
I was born in New York but moved to New Jersey as a kid. I am now in Los Angeles!

Congratulations on your latest single “Sleep”, how do you feel about the newfound success?
It’s a great feeling Everytime I release a song, the feedback and reactions are really great. It just motivates me to keep releasing more music.

What was the inspiration behind the single?
My twin brother, Brandon, produced the beat and I just loved it so much. The lyrics and melody came about really randomly. I was hearing the whole thing in my head before I heard the track and when I heard the track it just fit. The song itself is about being in a deceiving situation. I was “sleeping” as in not paying attention and you said I was dreaming but I felt like I was having a nightmare. I think it’s a really cool metaphor to express this kind of situation.

What has remained as your constant source of inspiration throughout the years?

Just the need to create something different than I had already done.

Do you have any dream collaborations? Who are they?
Phony Ppl, I love all their albums, their style and I really want to perform with a band! They are killing it. I’d also love to work with Frank Ocean, Tierra Whack and Missy Elliot!!

What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I love love love Matcha. The best one in my opinion is from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?
Stream asleep and watch the lyric video on YouTube!
