Featuring a stunning voice and a superb sound design, the burgeoning pop artist Meg Pfeiffern has always focused on the lesser-traveled roads to uphold and speak her truth, and the iconic star has risen to release her latest single “Push Baby”
Recently, our team had the opportunity to have a small chat with this budding artist, and we had some very fascinating info about her life and career. Read below to find out more.
Was there anyone or anything in particular that pushed you to pursue music?
When I was a little kid, I listened a lot to Alanis Morissette’s music. So often, that I annoyed so many people around me, because I simply wouldn’t stop singing her songs. She inspired me to do exactly the same: Writing my own songs, producing and releasing them, and additionally editing my own music videos. Since I stopped caring what other people might think about me, I started feeling absolutely free to do what I think is the best for me.
Congratulations on your new single “Push Baby” What was the inspiration behind it?
Thank you! I wanted to have a power song that supports equal rights for women and celebrates all gifted and strong female artists in the music business, who never stopped fighting but kept pushing for their rights.
No serious hymn, but a fun song that makes people nod their heads.
Do you have a favorite musical project that you’ve worked on?
Exactly this one: PUSH BABY.
Firstly, I was super excited when I received the invitation note from YAMAHA Music that they want to sponsor my song and video.
Secondly, I was really happy when my friends agreed to be in the music video to show appreciation towards one another. Plus, being able to dress up as Harley Quinn and swinging a baseball bat… Yeah, I won’t say no to this. I got a bit inspired by the movie “Birds of Prey”.
Is there an artist you want to work with that you have not yet had the opportunity to work with?
I am dreaming big. Probably, this would never happen, but I am a huge fan of Jamie Cullum. I’d love to sing with him. His voice touches me from the very first note.
Do you put a lot of pressure on yourself?
I do, especially before I jump on stage. Due to COVID all my gigs had to be cancelled or postponed, but this year in late summer and autumn I will be on tour in the UK, Ireland and in the USA. I feel out of practice, and I am sure, I will put a lot of pressure on me as soon as I hop on the plane in September.
What do you like to do for fun outside of working on music?
Watching movies. Since I started rolling, editing and directing music videos (mine and other artists, such as Luca Stricagnoli), I fell in love with cinematography. When pictures and music come together, my heart opens up. It’s fun to create something completely new.
What is one message you would give to your fans?
I would give to my fans and younger musicians one advice that I believe is the most important one of all: Do not mind what other people might think and how they would do things. Find your own wave and your own style and then keep PUSHING.
Thank you for speaking with us! For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?
Thanks for supporting my music. I send kisses and hugs.
