Meechie Stacks Shares Insights On His Musical Journey

Thank you for speaking with us at African Hype. What’s the first thing you hope new listeners feel when listening to your music?

I hope that they feel happy. I want my listeners to feel positive vibes and love. I want all of my music to make people feel good and spread good feelings.

Which release of yours has had a large impact on your life, whether the storyline was based on a life experience or the process of putting the song together helped you approach music production differently?

The song “I sold my kidney” featuring Lil b changed my life in a completely different way. I gained a lot of fans worldwide and a lot of people have told me that the song impacted their lives

  

I sold my kidney” is captivating from the very start with its combination of hyped-up beats and catchy lyrics. What was the process like when you were blending this song together?

At the time I was recording strictly on my cellphone. I got the beat from Angel and punched in on it. Line after line it was flowing out and came together perfectly. The song tells the story of an average person going to work every day working hard but still struggling. The song was made for motivational purposes. I want everybody to chase their dreams.

Discovering your own musical style is a unique part of every artist’s journey. What went into the process of discovering yours when you first started in the industry?

A lot of work and dedication. I recorded thousands of songs and went through a lot in my personal life that helped shape me as an artist. Im also a hip hop historian I have studied the game down to a science.

Do you have any dream collaborations? Who are they?

Working with Lil B was one of my dream collaborations now that im doing that I want to also work with Kanye West Snoop Too Short E 40 Young Thug Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa

What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

Always stay positive keep love in your heart and work hard anything is possible

You write all of your music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favorite part about the process?

I draw inspiration from the vibe around me while I’m recording. I like to feel beats out and then write songs bar for bar spontaneously. Sometimes I punch in and make a reference track then go back and rewrite some lines.

 Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to sing as a career or just advice about careers in general?

Network. Make good connections with people that can help you do whatever field you are pursuing. Study people that successfully do whatever career you are interested in. Never give up work hard be persistent and you will obtain your goals.

What are your fondest musical memories? In your house? In your neighborhood or town?

Recording with friends. Recording in studios that my idols made hit records in. Performing in front of thousands of people. Achieving my musical goals. Obtaining millions of streams.
