8 Questions With Marcus M-Positive Parker

Discovering your own musical style is a unique part of every artist’s journey. What sets your music apart? What is unique, or at least uncommon?

My music started after I had become known around the city of Dallas, Texas as a local best-selling author who motivated teens in schools with my autobiography called “The Product”(2004). So when I started the Motivational Rap with no cursing, it was very unique.

Do you have a favorite musical project that you’ve worked on?

My favorite song of mine is called “Be Yourself”, but “I Choose Happy” is slowly becoming my new favorite.

What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

“Stay Driven with the Talent You were Given”

Are you happy with the way your career has shaped up or do you regret anything?

My music was always an extension of the positive messages in my books, so although I have never been a full-time musician, the music has assisted when I was speaking at schools. And I am happy to see it streaming in different countries.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

-My first book was on the best-seller’s list with Barack Obama’s first book.

-I served 4 years in the US Air Force

-I was featured on HGTV’s Property Brother’s At Home talking about high tech water heating.

-I’m originally from Port Arthur,Texas and went to High School with the late Pimp C from UGK (RIP).

Would you like to shed some light on your upcoming projects?

I have been working on a movie script for years and I would like to get it produced by Netflix or Amazon Prime.
