Escalated, something close to magic, almost perfect and unique; this is what Charlie alias Luccini Sweets, an artist with Congolese roots who is based in Nantes France brings to the music table. He inherited his musical talent from his family seeing that his own father, “Tabu Ley Rochereau” was considered Africa’s most influential vocalist and one of the most prolific artists to have ever graced the game. Taking on the mantle with the mastery of pride and the authenticity of audacity is Luccini sweets; who is reimagining that 70s and 80s soul music in all the most stunningly innovative ways you can imagine!
Starting out, Luccini made waves with African Rhumba, Jazz, and Urban music. He has accumulated some weighty experience in the game which has come in handy seeing that he started composing music as early as 13 years. He has honed his skills and is now an accomplished music producer, sound engineer, instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and rapper (feels like there is nothing he can’t do really!) He is now scaling the heights as an indie artist and so far so good!
If you have ever had the pleasure of listening to soul music, then you know how imposing it can be now imagine this soul music re-imagined like in the 70s and 80s (hypnotizing right!). As you take all that in, imagine further the whole sound blended with some flavorful spices of the 80s pop, hip-hop, and R&B – I know it’s utterly mind-blogging and you can’t really take in all of this overwhelming exquisiteness; welcome to Luccini’s new and reimagined soul world!
“Cosmic Salt” is more than just the music- it is the affecting conversations integrated with the addicting melodies that take you back and forth in all the most magnificently imaginable ways. This 7-track flamboyance is the best therapy you can treat yourself to. It is poetic medicine for the soul with impeccably balanced soulful tracks with gratifying shades of hip-hop, pop, and R&B for that fulfilling listening experience.
“Escalate” is that tune that plays over and over in your mind. It carries with it that element of an anthem and modesty of melodicism and the mellifluous vocals do the talking over the scintillating soul euphony draped in sensual rap sections and heartfelt singing over the alluring beats, that are flavored in luxurious warm beats that are not overdone and feel like the right magnitude of harmonies thrown in there for delightful effects. This really did a ‘good number’ on me.
“Ethereal Haze” feels organic. It is deep and candid and the whole cadence is decorated with that African vibe and groove both in melodicism and lyricism. The rap fluidity over soulful beats is something else entirely and just like its title; this ballad is ethereally fulfilling!
“In the Mood” will get you in that lovey-dovey type of mood. This is the kind of ageless tune you’d listen to all day without getting enough off of it. The catchy section of, “Now Roll up in the mood…” is where the gist of the melody resides and it is absolutely captivating!
“Inner Stellar” caresses the soft spots of your heart and if you are in the mood and feeling like a rock star, this is the jam to vibe to. It has absolutely everything you’d want in a favorite record; stupendous production, lyrical masterclass, extraordinary melody, and passionate delivery. That 70s soul glamour comes out clearly and the incandescence burns with innate charisma from the vocal performance. You really can’t make this up!
You will find astonishment in the melodies present in, “Elephant”, “Cubits Bougee”, and “Borealis”. If you haven’t already listened to at least one of the jams, you are really missing out. Follow the attached link and let Luccini sweets color your world with timeless magic!
