Musical Brothers Link&Chain Release Their Brand New Moving Reggae Tune “Guide Me Jah”

Link&Chain is a band of brothers that have been singing and performing together and co-writing their songs for decades since their earlier days in Jamaica. The name “Link&Chain” is not just a name but it is significant and representative of the struggles that their ancestors had to go through to liberate themselves and also represents the coming and sticking together of a people like the unbreakable bond of the chains! The band came together in the year 1986 as a trio and still boasts three of its original members. Oneil Griffiths who is the newest member of the group joined in the year 2015. They have the musical heights and have accomplished some deserved success such as building a name for themselves alongside the All-stars of Jamaican reggae groups and getting featured in established magazines such as Rock N Roll Magazine and Beat and Pulse! They have remained true to the Rastafarian cultural beliefs making nostalgic reggae music that apart from entertaining, educates big time with the potency of the message it carries – their latest single “Guide Me Jah” did not disappoint to that effect!

Listening to this track, I couldn’t help notice some intriguing similarities with Morgan Heritage’s “Down by the River” track – which is a great deal with the percussive elements painted in the melody sticking with a listener like super glue! There is a sumptuous deal in the melody right from the introductory heavy percussion to the quintessential guitar tones of a reggae vibe, the Caribbean stun on the drums, and finally the palatial soulful and marvelous lead and back vocals that bring out the message in the lyrics perfectly!

This is the track to resonate deeply with as its message of faith and hope is as clear as the light of day. “Guide me Jah the way I should go, Lift me up and place my feet higher and higher, Jah you are the Captain the pilot the leader, you’re the wheels the navigator” makes the catchy and memorably moving chorus that speaks right to a listener’s heart in indescribably magnificent ways. This is the track to remind us to keep pushing, to never give up or give in to temptations. We have to stay strong for we are all we got! And by letting Jah be our guide, he shall wash away all the pain, tears and remove the storms and tides that may try to engulf us.
