Thank you for joining us today – Congratulations on the release of your EP “How It Feels”! How are you feeling about sharing this EP with the world?

⁃ I want to first thank you for taking the time to listen and I am ecstatic to share my sound with the world. I’m hoping to bring more diverse sound and I’m looking forward to meeting my future fans.

“How It Feels” is captivating from the very first song to the last with a combination of unique beats and catchy lyrics. What was the process like when you were blending this EP together?

⁃ My EP is derived from actual experiences in my life and emotions I’ve felt. I put a little of everything in my music. My EP displays a range of emotions from heartbreak, a feeling of wanting to get away, into just wanting to be the free spirit I naturally am.

What was the motivation behind the EP?

⁃ So motivation came once I came up with the song Higher Place. I was literally sitting in my one bedroom apartment at the time and everything just kinda flowed and came from there. Emotions will always motivate my music. I feel that’s the best way

You have an amazing voice. Are you vocally trained?

⁃ Thank you for that compliment. I’ve been self taught up until last year. I’m actually vocally training right now. I’m a Sophomore college student. I’m studying to be a music teacher at Berklee College of Music. I’m proud of this as a mother of two and this being my third try at college . Third times a charm so I’m hopeful this go around.

If you are asked to collaborate with a renowned musician, whose name will you write down?

⁃ So I have a long list of collaborations, but to narrow it down I would love to collaborate with Erykah Badu because she has iconic flavor and she’s multifaceted. She is innovative. I aspire to bring the same energy to the music scene today and I’m constantly growing and aspiring to learn. I wouldn’t mind being under Erykah’s wing.

What has your musical journey been like? Run us through your story.

⁃ Music has always been a huge part of my life. Always my outlet as a child. I’ve heard stories of me making up songs at the age of 2. I play clarinet and actually marched tuba in marching band, so I was a “band nerd” with soul. As I got older, my first time in the studio was at around the age of 21. I found another form of passion for my music. However, my journey has not been an easy one and life hit hard so I gave it up for a while. Let’s just say I’m playing catch up right now. I have so much more to offer and honestly I’m just getting started. I’m excited to show you the things me and my team has in store.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

⁃ I absolutely love rock music. I make jewelry and the most interesting thing about me is I am a founder of a non profit organization The ReVolutionary Inc. I’ve recently found my voice and I just genuinely love helping other less fortunate than me and I love solving problems , especially the ones in our community. Hopefully my organization will bring a lot of light and needed love back into our community.

Thank you for speaking with us! For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?

⁃ Lastly, thank you for your time and I can’t wait to visit beautiful Africa. Peace. Love. Light from La’Key
