It takes a true artist to write music based on his personal experiences, and Kobra Man fits the bill. His music has a passionate intensity that most artists don’t seem to have. Kobra Man’s goal behind his passion for music is to create compositions that people can relate to. He is a hip-hop artist from Buffalo, NY, has been establishing a name for himself in the music world and polishing his talent since the age of seventeen. Since the beginning of his career, he has been an independent force, demonstrating via a wide range of releases that his unique sound is authentic and his songwriting talent is much beyond the industry standard.

“Man on a Mission,” Kobra Man’s incredible new mixtape, and like with any record, the key is to spend a few days diving into each song to properly appreciate the intricacies, lyrics, melodies, wordplay, and degree of effort required to produce. It does not disappoint as we listen from the opening track, “Basic Instinct,” which features a distinctly more vintage hip-hop inspired piece of music. The first featured vocal has a distinct personality that immediately shakes things up and gives listeners with a relaxed yet confident showcase of thoughts. Some of the tracks such as “Lil Bro,” “Alpha,” “Butter,” and “Straight Up” have garnered up a lot of listeners and finding themselves on fans’ playlists.

Kobra Man’s rap style is quite unique on this record, with no obvious similarities in terms of velocity and fire. This stream of consciousness technique comes out as so clean and genuine. The music, too, grows in a surprising yet magnificent manner — the way the first track to the last bursts and evolves is quite hypnotic. Despite the fact that all of the tracks are based on the hip-hop and rap genres, none of the songs are monotonous. Each of them has an intensity that will compel you to listen to them.
