Kieran James has always leveraged his rare talents of penning down thoughts in a manner that generates genuine emotions in the hearts of the listeners as he makes genre-bending music that involves a cocktail of modern and nostalgic R&B and pop sounds. Influenced by the R&B music of the early 2000s and drawing on his own experiences, James is able to create a sense of local charm in his stories. He then uses his unique stories and powerful vocals to keep you listening and heavily invested in the next chapter of the story in his songs.

“Rev 17” is his latest masterpiece; an R&B and lively pop-funk tune that was co-produced by Kayso and Zxphaniah. This track was actually inspired by Kieran’s passion and love for funk pop and the legend Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” album.

“Rev 17” is somewhat special, evoking some kind of emotion from within you that you didn’t even know existed. It is the kind of tune that makes you feel something like Dȇjȃ vu; – like you’ve listened to it sometime in the past but you really can’t quite wrap your finger around it!

I love the cinematic qualities the tune has been afforded—the lively pop-funk qualities give it a danceable attribute that makes you feel exhilarated throughout its length. Kieran’s euphonious vocals lusciously slink with lucidity and infectious warmth as he effortlessly makes this an anthem, especially with that catchy and easily memorable chorus that remains with a listener even after the tune is no more!

Kieran James displays a deep sense of songwriting expertise here as he builds on a very relatable tale; I feel the haunting elements of this track are brought about by the marriage between the lyrics and the harmonies in a way that comes off complimentary.

Overall, “Rev 17” is a great song that will appeal to anyone who likes pop and funk music with a lot of energy.

Kieran James is also expected to drop his debut EP “Trials & Temptations” on December 30, 2022—just in time to end the year and welcome the New Year in style.
