Johnathan Whitehorn grew up in the Chicago suburbs, where he learned to play a variety of instruments as well as sound engineering and production techniques. He began experimenting with music as early as fourth grade, and he enjoyed the experience and the challenges that came with it. He began with the flute and progressed to the piano, guitar/bass, and other percussive instruments. Around the eighth grade, he became interested in audio production and attempted to do some improvisations on some cool hip-hop and trap beats. He also learned some production techniques via YouTube lessons, and with enough experimentation, he was quickly coming of age.

Johnathan Whitehorn’s music is vast, crossing lyrical and melodic borders in ways that pop-punk, jazz, alternative hip-hop, indie pop/rock, and hyper pop cannot. Johnathan Whitehorn separates these lines like the artistic genius that he is to create one mind-blowing, head-spinning sound!

His new EP “Brain Empty” is a daring musical piece that will appeal to individuals who enjoy overthinking. This is a powerful introspective EP because, in life, people see things differently, which is only natural but also a conundrum in and of itself. What appears to be true today may appear to be false tomorrow, and sometimes we think we know only to discover that we never knew what we thought we knew! – You’re right, it’s mind-boggling!

Prepare to have your body, mind, and soul blown away by this hyper pop 5 track compilation that puts our wits to the test in a single fight!

The first tune is titled “Converse was sold out of my size,” and perhaps the next time your clothing/shore fashion store sells out of your size, try going into the studio and letting those emotions fly! This is an anthemic hyper hop tasty and melancholy tune giving the tragic truth of a long-distance romance – the seasoning soaking in this immersive sound is heightened by the drum work, percussively layered hyper components, bass drive, and cyclic dominant piano! This would be ideal for the lengthy journey to hell!

“I loathe this” is a self-instigating euphonious and melodically ascending tuneful sound that has been painted with colorful instrumentations to back the topic, yet with powerful resonance, allowing the listener some wild thoughts to ponder! “Can’t run for long” is heavy, vibrant, and culminates in a full-house enthusiastic and stunning sound that communicates directly to the emotions deep within us both metaphorically and literally. After all, spinning around like a possessed monster isn’t such a horrible idea — we’re all insane to varying degrees!

“Straight up (not)” is a solid and intense groovy music with its deep delving melodicism that elaborates our state of mind; the deeper we attempt to attain those heightened feelings, the more we find ourselves caught in that web of confusing consuming ideas that are extremely tough to return from. The last instrumental and hypnotic sound, “Flying is Easy,” is the appropriate finish to this EP, with its dripping and natural melodic instrumental elements that offer some reality check – the brain has so much and so little going on, which is an enigma in and of itself!
