J.Maurice is the lyrical savvy who hails from the city of Dallas Texas. He is on his never-ending quest of liberating hip-hop music from the shackles of wannabe rappers and his fresh style is as authentic as the original goes. Having grown up in the 80s, 90s, and 00s era of hip-hop and R&B, he tries to renovate his style so that it carries with it that nostalgic aura of the old school rap and R&B while still echoing the futuristic sonic allure of modern rap to fashion what is definitely going to give any rap devotee eargasm.

Despite his childhood and part of his adulthood being overwhelmed by life’s worst side, he was able to swim his way through the drowning forces of thick waters and made it to the other side and he can now look back with pride and count it as part of his history that made him who he is now. The tune, “Keep You Around” is the perfect tune all around- you can dedicate it to someone special on their birthdays, your mom, dad, or people who have been there for you in many ways as you remind them that you will always keep them around!

This tune has a laid-back yet formidable melodicism that is reminiscent of the old school days. The beats flourish nostalgically; blending the guitar, piano, bass, and drums to curate an articulate melody and the way the male R&B-defined vocals from the guest artist shine on the chorus is awe-inspiring and adds so much color and variety to this touching tune.

J.Maurice handles his moment with near-perfect maturity and displays that experience with the way he drops ear-catching flows faultlessly and calmly over the spectacular beats.  He displays that infectious charisma to his game and is able to take a listener with his bars that are theme-perfect and drive the point of this arresting track home.
