Read below to learn some interesting details about Indigo Wonder

Q: It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

A: Talent, hard work, and persistence for sure, but having a good marketing strategy is a key moving part as well.  I’ve been singing since I was a small child.  Around 4th grade I fell in love with poetry and added songwriting and rapping to my tool belt.  Being able to consistently cocreate was and still is embedded in my dna. I just want to leave the world a better place than I found it.  Music will give me the platform I need to accomplish that on a much larger scale.

Q: Congratulations on your latest single “A Beautiful Heaux”, how do you feel about the newfound success?

A: I’m happy with the momentum I’ve gained thus far and I’m really looking forward to building an even larger awareness of how the black community can gain true economic empowerment.

Q: I’m sure success does not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

A: Believe it or not, the biggest challenge for me has been networking and capitalizing off social media.  I’m old school at heart, home bodied, and sometimes shy.  Overcoming my reluctancy to lead and put myself out there has been an ongoing battle.  Finding a “why” that outweighs the “why not” has been very instrumental in my journey.

Q: Let’s talk about our organization “Obsidian,” What was the inspiration behind it and how has the journey been so far?

A: I’ve always been a visionary.  Even when writing songs, I work backward.  I close my eyes and envision the end product; and then step by step I piece together what it would take to make it happen from end to beginning.  The idea of Obsidian was gifted to me by the Creator quite some time ago.  I’ve spent the past 4 ½ years researching viable solutions and options for building a self-sustaining community as well as having my own currency.  Now I’m ready to start executing the plans I’ve set in place.

Q: What’s your best piece of advice to your fans who desire to find success in life?

A: The best advice I can give to fans is to have tunnel vision and stay focused.  Quite often, we treat life like a rat race and constantly compare ourselves to our peers based on a system of false beliefs and what that system has told us success is supposed to look like.   There is no one size fits all when it comes to success and there is no specified timeline for achievement.  If you are in tune with who you are and what your purpose is in life, you will be inclined to act accordingly.  If you act accordingly, you will always be exactly where you’re supposed to be.  It doesn’t matter what the person to the left or right of you is doing or even what they have.  They don’t have your calling.  Focus on your journey and only compete with yourself.

Q: What’s something most people don’t know about you?

A: Ahh man, here comes the reluctancy… most people don’t know that I’ve been a vegetarian for about 5 years now.  I’ve been transitioning to a vegan lifestyle for the past 3 years and I currently have a few things in the works career wise in that realm.

Q: Are you working on any project right now and what can we expect from you in the future?

A: I am working on completing my EP right now which will also have 70% of the funds go directly to Obsidian.  I’m ecstatic about it and can’t wait to share it with the world.

Q: Thank you for speaking with us! For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?

A: Thank you for taking time out to interview me.  I would just like for everyone to continue to enjoy my music, share it with others, and please follow both my Instagram pages (@obsidian.ngo and @theindigowonder) to stay updated with the latest information on my projects and what I’m doing to empower the black community.
