Portsmouth VA’s Finest Hip-Hop Rapper Imani Omar Has Been the Trending Topic With the Official Video for His Single, “I Just Wanna Do More” off of His, “Sacrificial Official” EP

A heavyweight champ when it comes to lyrical ability; Imani Omar is the finest rapper emerging from the streets of Portsmouth VA. Combining the fashion of classical hip-hop from the golden era with that modern grit and edge of futuristic hip-hop, he is swiftly taking over as more and more listeners identify with his powerful style that takes them back to the original days of real rap music- just like they remember it. He utilizes his gift in rapping to pass very deep and sensitive messages affecting the community around him and that’s what makes his music heavily relatable as many listeners can really identify with the lyrics being offered!

He recently released his “Sacrificial Official” EP which has some of the most authentic rap anthems I have listened to. The track, “I Just Wanna Do More” is a single off of this EP and this is one of those tunes that take you back to the nostalgic times around the 90s and early 00.

Very classic and laid-back yet expressive; the beats in here will transport you back in time and his earnest and raw performance is why this registers right into the heart. He delivers some very deep and impactful messages behind his lyricism that tackles societal problems from climate change, to police brutality and racism and how he feels that he can do more and wants to do more to change the status quo!

He showcases inimitable maturity, calmness and experience as he faultlessly makes his case heard over the warm instrumentation- going all the way and not once running out of bars; such a virtuosic lyrist I admit. And there is something about him that is straight up giving me Joyner Lucas vibes and I’m all for it!

The official music video is out and it has already garnered more than 14, 200 views in a very short period and it is little surprise why; this track is a masterpiece and even the positive comments under the comment section confirm it.
