Consummate rap engineer who goes professionally as Hymaginn (pronounced as Him Again) is proving to be in a league of his own currently making huge strides with every release he puts out there. He was born in Texas, raised in Georgia and has lived in Atlanta for the past 6 years. He has been making an impact as an independent act for several years under his own entertainment label called, “4EVERSOUL ENT” with his impressive discography boasting of over 5 released studio albums and numerous singles. He combines that classical nostalgia of street rap with the modern edge and grit of the new age hip-hop/trap for a very broad-ranging faultless rap style that has made him a household name not only in US rap scene but outside of it!
Taking inspiration from one of those good days we all experience, he decided to create something fun, energetic and emotionally relatable and his improvisation with the melodies and lyrics resulted in a 3-piece single appropriately titled, “In The Meantime.” The tracks somehow transition into each other but still manage to carry their own themes and impact authentically!
Hymaginn really got flows for days in “Flows 4 Days” as he showcases why he is the artist to look out for. Putting emphasis on why he isn’t gon’ quit, he flawlessly glides- smoothly like a criminal with his lyrically invented bars, playfully delivering fun and equally educative bars. The way he does this so effortlessly is an admirable quality of his whole artistry- he truly was born for this. The beats in here are balanced for that expressive freedom and drip through with a futuristic aura and inimitable groove!
“We Got” has to be the street anthem and also possesses that endearing mainstream appeal. It is a feel-good anthem with a party-ful vibe around it and it invites a listener to bust some moves as they sing along to the catchy phrases being dropped repeatedly, “we got…we!” this is one of those tracks that give you an energetic start to the day!
In “Pop” Hymaginn really pops those bars from the chest of his endless repertoire. Showcasing smart lyrical ability, he breathes life into this narrative over the nostalgic hip-hop instrumentation that blends some organic instruments with quintessential rap ones that have been filtered via the bass for a quality masterpiece. And like Hymaginn says, “Another day, another tragedy!”
