We’re lucky enough to have sneaked in for an interview with a talented artist. He was generous enough to lend some of his precious moments as we gleefully stumbled deep into his personal and professional life. Here are some excerpts from the interview:

Thanks for speaking with us! How’s everything going?

Life is good when you do what you like and make music without any boundaries – without a label influencing your style or somebody else telling you what type of music you should make.

What sets your music apart? What is unique, or at least uncommon?

From what I’ve seen, people are most surprised by mixing electronic music (beats, all the kicks and hi-hats) with guitars (both acoustic and electric). But hey, things will get even more experimental in the future… (Yes, that’s a teaser – stay tuned!)

Please tell us more about your single “Night Drive” How did this song first come together and what is the inspiration behind it?

Great question. I’ve noticed that listening to music in the car while driving and listening to music at your work desk are two completely different things. The music you listen to in the car has to have a smooth groove – the tempo shouldn’t be too fast (which could lead to unnecessary speeding) and definitely not too slow – ’cause you don’t want to fall asleep after driving for a long drive. But most importantly, car music needs BASS…

Which one of your songs has the most memorable story for you? Whether it’s the writing process, recording sessions or release of the song.

Honestly, the craziest thing is that my track “The Beginning of the End” was actually written while I was like 12 and still in elementary school. I have been playing it on the guitar ever since and it kinda became a song… People seem to like it (according to Spotify, at least).

What or who has influenced your sound and style?

Many artists – when it comes to the rock side, probably Pink Floyd and The Doors, and then a lot of modern post-rock bands like We Lost the Sea, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and others. Electronic music-wise, I really like Massive Attack.

What according to you holds the most importance, fame, respect, or money?

In music – definitely respect. You can dislike something, but you should never be disrespectful to the artist. I’m not mad when someone says one of my tracks sounds dull or is too long, but when you start calling someone names and disrespecting their creative side, then we have a problem.

What’s something that most people do not know about you?

That I really do everything… from production, making beats, programming drums, playing the guitar…

For our final question, is there anything else you would like to add?

Make music. Paint. Write poetry. Don’t be afraid of other people’s opinions, they don’t matter. If you like it, do it. Someone will find your work online one day and enjoy it… Maybe even make you famous…
