Chicago’s Very Own G4G Reminds the World Just How Influential Music Can as He Sets to Release His Second Single Dubbed, “Fafa” Featuring Kenyan Female Artist Sofiya Nzau

G4G is a Chicago native who developed an insatiable interest in music ever since he was 7 years old. Listening to some of the certified records back in the day from the music peers who made it possible for others to grace the scene, G4G knew that music is what his heart craved and coming of age, he decided to dip his feet into the music shores and test the depth of the melodious water. Unfortunately, before gaining as much momentum, he had to take a break but he is now back in the game and he comes carrying a wave of momentum that can only be equated to a tsunami (y’all better be prepared!)

To G4G music has always been much more than glamour and showbiz- he wants to leave a legacy by making relatable music and music that is conscious and alive to society’s needs and happenings and that is why he felt deeply motivated to get in the studio and the result of that was an emotionally resonant masterpiece titled, “Fafa” which he collaborated with Kenyan songstress Sofiya Nzau.

“Fafa” is a word coined from the Kenya dialect and it means “Father.” The idea behind this track is the sad reality that fathers have turned on their children and are sexually assaulting them. “Fafa” is the voice for the sexually assaulted children who are suffering in silence since the persons that are supposed to protect them have turned on them (it’s sad, but it’s the deafening reality!)

At the onset is of course the traditional African native-inspired singing that makes for a resplendent intro; you know quite like the one you get when you are about to watch a documentary about an ancient African culture and there is that introductory background singing which borrows from the people of that heritage (you get it!)

Nzau is next in line with her Kikuyu-painted lyricism (Kikuyu is one of the native languages in Kenya) and her melodious delivery does not give you even the slightest chance to feel like you might actually not understand the language. Her performance delivered from the female’s point of view echoes the plight of a girl being sexually assaulted by her dad and she knows not even how to tell her own mother!

G4G showcases why he is next in line to succeed as a lyrist as he depicts such lyrical stamina and maturity over the obedient hip-hop beats. He is calm, and collected and ensures that the message quoted in his smart lines is the highlight of this powerful track.

In all accounts, this is just the perfect track with such a dedicated delivery and universal theme at its core, and what’s more; the proceeds from this track as well as fundraising will be used to offer financial aid to organizations in Africa and the US that are dedicated to ensuring the welfare of sexually assaulted children.

I felt that this duo exudes such an indestructible chemistry and it would only be right were they to release another project together (only time will tell). Be on the lookout for this and much more from G4G as he is now back and is going nowhere. This is the beginning of many more authentic tracks that he has prepared for his loyal and new fans alike!
