Exclusive Interview: Dj Rares Delves on His Creative Tastes, His Inspirations & His New Track “Midnight Run”

It’s a pleasure to speak with you today. Why don’t you tell us a little bit about yourself and your backstory? How did you end up where you are now?

It all started in high school when I was part of a EuroDance band that helped me later embark on a solo career , several collaborations with artists and mainstream bands followed at that time. Later, together with my colleague Joshua, we built the Rares And Joshua project which still exists today and we are going to release a new song followed by a music video

Congratulations on your latest track “Midnight Run”, how do you feel about the newfound success?

Thank you! I am glad that I managed to impose myself on this segment which is new to me and I enjoy the positive feedback from listeners.

Are there any specific elements you like to throw into your songs?

Yes to each composition I try to introduce as many such elements as possible in an attempt to customize the song as much as possible. For example the song Escape is a Chillwave composition with retrofunk and electro-pop influences containing chop vocal elements.

What were the biggest initial hurdles to pursuing your musical dreams and how did you overcome them?

As in any activity there are ups and downs that together with my team I managed to overcome through confidence and unity, I learned how important it is to be patient especially in the current situation caused by the covid pandemic.

What has remained as your constant source of inspiration throughout the years?

The lived experiences and the daily life are a continuous source of inspiration for me

What goals have you accomplished? What goals are you still working towards?

First of all I want to mention that I make music for the people not to achieve a specific goal. Over time I managed to achieve all the goals I set for myself both with my band and in my solo career.

Do you have any dream collaborations? Who are they?

I can’t say that I dreamed of collaborating with a certain artist, I started a lot of collaborations with different artists and I hope to finish all of them one day but at the same time I hope to release our second album with my colleague Joshua very soon .
