D.Blackman Shares Insights on His Musical Journey

Sheer genius is demonstrated by the fascinating versatile artist and songwriter D.Blackman in his new single  “Catch You.” The impeccable track is creatively entertaining and captivates the audience with an immersive and catchy vibe.

We’re lucky enough to have sneaked in for an interview with a talented artist. He was generous enough to lend some of his precious moments as we gleefully stumbled deep into his personal and professional life. Here are some excerpts from the interview:

 “Catch You” is captivating from the start to finish with a combination of unique beats and catchy lyrics. What was the inspiration behind the single?

Embracing all women and letting them know no matter what I will be here through it all.

What has been your constant source of motivation and inspiration?

Not letting my family name down, and to be as a great musician as my father was.

For those who don’t know, for how long have you been singing and creating music?

I have been a drummer for about 25 years while singing in the background, I have only started creating my own music since 2019

Creativity is a huge part of an artist’s success. What is your creative process when creating new music?

it starts with a beat then it would start with how I’m feeling at the moment what I’m feeling, a lot of time I will be listening to great music that inspires me my woman and inspires me.

Which artists have influenced you through your musical journey?

Michael Jackson Luther Vandross Bob Marley, the police, my father Ras Shorty I

Which song (yours or someone else’s) has been the most memorable story for you? Whether it’s the writing process, recording sessions or release of the song.

I would say with my old band upstream the song was called pick up yourself, I just moved to Cali and It was new to me with my older brothers, living the Hollywood Life it was great at hen house studios going all hours of the night with no sleep what a great feeling.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

follow your passion don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do whatever you want, you live once make the best of it and give it your all never hold back for a moment because you will never get that moment back.
