Born on August 8, 1998, in Northern Kentucky, 23-year-old rapper and singer who goes professionally as Coleman has not had a smooth ride really; having an absentee father and a mother who was hooked on drugs, he found himself in and out of foster care and unfortunately when he was aged 18, he was indicted with gun-related charges and incarcerated in Kentucky Federal prison for 15 years but only served 20% due to good behavior. Having come out, the sky was more than the limit for him as he wanted to put his talents to good use and did not settle, setting off immediately to producing and releasing music that caught the attention of the right people and he is now currently signed under the label, “Stellar Muzik Group.”

His music is very relatable as he has a way of turning his own trials and tribulations as well as the street plights into lyrics which allows so many listeners to gravitate toward his sound. Tracks like “Bleeding” showcased the level of lyrical ingenuity and performance expertise that he is able to unleash!

The single, “Ashamed” comes from a very personal point of view and you can hear the raw emotions in his voice- though sad, the lyrics in the single offer hope of the now and the future. This track was born as Coleman was introspecting over how his incarceration at only 18 really dragged him behind his peers and how he’s had to work extra hard so as to keep up!

This tune is very emotional and the hook, “You should be so damned ashamed,

Look at the mess that you made,

You keep on lookin’ away,

Knowing it’s not gonna change” is so memorable and the capstone of this dazzling track.

Coleman’s vocals are so melodious and blend with the instrumentation so perfectly and one the best thing about this track is that it not only speaks to your heart but your soul as well.  There is just something about it that feels so special and will make you fall in love right from the first listen. I have no doubt that Coleman is proud of his journey and what he has achieved so far and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
