Cody Lee Welcomes Us to The “New Normal”

For an artist of such incredible talent, Cody Lee surely has limitless potential. The Chicago-based singer/songwriter recently released an album, WOODPECKER CRISIS, which has to be one of the best things that have happened this year.

“New Normal” is hands up my favorite song on the project, although the entire album is a regal body of work and proof that he puts his heart and soul into the craft.  It is an aggressively flowing and lyrical song that is voiced over a slow tempo beat led with a bluesy guitar riff. This is a perfect listening experience during this Coronavirus outbreak, which let’s be honest: we are all in a little funk in the latest coronavirus pandemic. Life is nothing but routine right now. We are trapped at home, we cannot fly or do much of what makes us happy, heck, most of us even lost our jobs.

It is songs like these that let’s us know we are not alone and life has pretty much changed for everyone else.  The song is crafted with a special feel and creates some of the most powerful and uplifting moods by using positive lyrics. The lyrics also tell the gritty truth and he also includes a funny twist in them
