Chughey has always been a man with many gifts, which he identified as his creative outlets: sketch drawing, skateboarding, snow skating, and now, music. He was never short of something to fuel his creativity, which is why, following his snow skating accident, he licked his wounds quickly and delved into the other tactic to inspire his creativity: music! It has been a journey spanning over a decade now, and he is still raring to go as he seeks to establish himself as a versatile rapper who will not only bridge the gap between the old-school and new-school generations but also the gap between art and music; Chughey is the real deal and the answer to all our musical problems, so I suggest you start mentioning his name with a little more respect from this day forth!

I’ve been listening to Chughey’s work for a while now, and I’m amazed at how far he’s come from when he first started to now; his new jam “Rope Burn,” for example, is a showcase of his versatility, not only as a rapper but also as a singer, and I couldn’t be more proud of the artist he is and is becoming!

“Rope Burn” has a lot of likable features, and the way he creates a catchy anthem off of the lyrics and melodies is commendable, to say the least. His way of singing gives that infectious flavor to this track, which will stay with a listener outside of the track. The swiftness and effortlessness with which he operates between singing and rapping are quite telling of his indisputable innate gifts.

The beats here are eclectic, as they hit listeners’ ears awash with timeless pop-rock-inspired melodies that really supplement Chughey’s way of delivery in this particular tune.

At its core, “Rope Burn” has a deeply relatable theme about holding onto the past; not wanting to let go even when you know it is the right thing to do, especially in a relationship that ended with you being hurt!
