There are records that ought to be heard more than once. In order to truly appreciate them, they need to be heard again and again. They are like these nuanced, complicated films that we have to explore over time and get different readings each time.

This is the case of ‘Inner Universe’, a song originally from the Ghost in the Shell. Celiane The Voice covered the song and she uses her compelling vocal arrangement that turns the song into a true masterpiece. She lets her voice shine throughout the song and keeps it consistent giving the listener an emotional experience, so for the love of God, you have to listen to it.

The song will be released in Fall 2020

The songs truly show off her unique, soothing angelic voice and with no doubt, she is about to become one of your favorite artists once you’ve heard her operatic voice!

We had a chance to talk to the Celiane and this is what she had to say:

Bienvenue! It’s great having you here! You got a new release! Congratulations! Tell us about that song?

Inner Universe was originally sung by Origa for Ghost in the Shell animated series in 2003. When I started watching the original series, I fell in love with the song. I had to sing it in its original languages. So I learned how to speak Russian enough to sing it and I already knew Latin. I wanted to preserve the song in honor of Origa and the series, but make it my way. And so my version was born to in my style.

What made you decide on this cover as a single release?

I am a singer who is a character and I knew that cosplayers would appreciate the art I wanted to share with them. I am still deciding if I want it sort of the album alone or to release it as a single but it is such a beautiful song that it deserves its own attention.

Who or what inspires you the most?

Who inspires me is Whitney Houston even though she has passed on. In my genre I have gravitated towards Daft Punk and Herbie Hancock who was creating this music long before we understood electronic music. Kraftwerk also inspires my art form.

How did you start your recording career?

I started out with a group but found that my voice didn’t really fit so I decided to go solo. I created my story and character to stand for love and have been going strong ever since.

It hasn’t been easy since I’m so different and so is my voice but I stay in my own lane and just create!

What is your genre of music?

Electronica Hip Opera or Hopera. I created this genre because I need something that would fit my voice. And not fit into a box. I created my own spaceship!

What can we expect from you in the remaining part of 2020?

I will be performing live we’re places are open. I am almost finished with another song and collaborating on projects. I hope to keep performing and creating.
