Songwriter and Designer Brett Quigley Releases a Touching Single “Rocket Ship” About Addiction

Brett Quigley is an LA-based songwriter, singer, and streetwear owner whose clothing brand is called Sparrow Blue. He is also a member of the LGBTQ community and after struggling with drug and substance addiction for a long time, he currently achieved a commendable and inspiring milestone; he is 6 years sober and I am very happy for him and I really admire his mammoth heart as he is willing to help others who may be struggling with all manner of drug addiction because as we know, addiction knows no boundaries and its impact goes beyond the person fighting. In what is an emotionally charged and moving single, “Rocket Ship” was written from a very personal point of view following the death of his friend as a result of heroin addiction. As you can probably imagine, the news hit him heavily and left him with a heavy heart as he feels he could have done more to help him but now that he is no longer here, the track, “Rocket Ship” is the closest comfort and this tune is the perfect therapy for anyone feeling a little overwhelmed by the world and they want to escape into drugs- it doesn’t always have to be that way because nothing lasts forever, especially the bad moments!

This track carries a ton of emotions throughout with the melody transcending from the ground up and equally operating between moments of lively melodicism and laid-back and touching euphonies. His performance with his soothing and warm vocals is everything and you can feel the raw emotions coming out in what is an emotionally pulling performance.

Brett Quigley puts his heart and soul in that chorus section with the emotions flying from his voice straight to your heart. The lines, “But there is paradise if you want to turn around, you’re right beside me but your heads up in the clouds…” are so powerful and get me every time!
