Philadelphia-Based Band, A Couple Mondays, Emerge With a Certified Musical Performance in the Single, “25000”

Going by the unique name of, A Couple Mondays, this band’s name isn’t the only distinctive perspective about them; fronted by their leader and pioneer La’Monte, they have been on an admirable rampage of bringing back great music again as they blend the stylistic influences present in soul, funk, punk rock, and R&B whilst still managing to maintain the essence of hip-hop sound in staggeringly innovative ways. They are definitely the future of stunningly invented and timeless music and the way they draw listeners in with their energy and vibe- is the endearing mark of proficient performers.

They have a new ingratiating tune titled, “2500” that makes its way strikingly to a listener’s ears and heart with that hauntingly splendid percussion that for some reason can’t stop playing in a listener’s head.  Boasting the mastery of impeccable songwriting, this tasteful tune echoes a fair share of heartbreak and wild inimitable, and uncontainable terror brought about by the crazy girls- you know the ones who can never be domesticated and if you try, they consume you piece by piece until you are no longer recognizable!

There is a dominant element of nostalgic hip-hop in the beats with some flavorful blend of that shimmering cocktail of punk rock and soul/funk attitude and the way the performances are perfectly balanced between delivering the catchy chorus and dropping some intricate bars genuinely warming a listener’s heart. That punk rock thrill in between rap beats is the proverbial icing on this harmonious cake and will take some repeated listening experiences so as to feel fully satisfied by such creative output.

This is a delectable glimpse of what this band is able to offer and I personally wouldn’t mind watching them on a live performance as they possess that indefatigable character to move listeners with their energetic performances such as this!
